If you are a fan of the television show Project Runway, you won’t want to miss this episode of Living Local!

On October 11, 2017, all designers from season 15 of Project Runway, plus a few guests, came together in Milwaukee for a one-of-a-kind fashion show experience. Project ReUNITED was the brainchild of contestant and Milwaukee local Linda Marcus, who invited her close-knit group of co-competitors to come together to benefit United Way’s Community Fund.

We had the chance to sit down with four of the designers who came to Milwaukee early: Alex Snyder, LaTasha Henderson, Jenni Riccetti, and Mah-Jing Wong. They had just returned from an emotional experience dressing clients of the YWCA Southeast Wisconsin’s employment programs, helping them prepare and feel great for their job hunt.

Gathered together in Alex’s hotel room for this recording, the comfort and closeness that these contestants felt for each other and the excitement for giving back and doing good they brought to the event was palpable. And, though you can’t exactly see their outfits through your earphones, rest assured that they all looked amazing!

Jenni Riccetti mentions a t-shirt she sells on her website, with all proceeds benefitting the Black Lives Matter movement. Learn more and purchase the t-shirt here.

Visit the websites and peruse the collections of Alex, LaTasha, Mah-Jing, and Linda Marcus.

Check out photos from the Project ReUNITED event and learn more about how you can get invites to exclusive events like this through United Way’s Women United.
