At United Way, we believe that collaboration is key to solving our community’s most pressing issues. In order to fight (and win) against a sweeping challenge like hunger, we know we cannot do it alone.
Milwaukee’s Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading hunger-relief organization in the state, focusing on providing healthy and nutritious food for those who face hunger. In eastern Wisconsin, that is one out of every seven people.
While not a United Way funded program partner, we are proud of our ongoing relationship with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Each year, United Way sends hundreds of volunteers to Feeding America through Season of Caring to help sort and pack food donations. And, for the first time in their 35 year history, Feeding America ran a United Way campaign this year.
Our community’s problems are interrelated, and only by working together can we solve an issue as complex as hunger. Enjoy this conversation with Patty Habeck, President of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.
