A few years ago, we shared a story about a man named John. John worked full time until his mother became ill, when he quit his job to care for her full time. Unfortunately, his employer also provided his health care coverage, and John was left without a lot of options for how to manage his diabetes.
By calling 2-1-1, John found Bread of Healing Clinic and the MedShare program. Through this free clinic, John got the care and medication he needed to manage his diabetes and stay healthy and fit so he could care for his mom. All of the programs John used to find this lifesaving resource are supported by your donations to United Way.
A healthy community is made up of healthy individuals. That’s why we at United Way invest in programs and partnerships that remove barriers to quality and affordable health care for everyone in our community.
