How do you measure the power of a job? For many, it’s gauged in dollars and cents, money needed to pay for everyday expenses: housing, food, education, and insurance. For others, the power of a job goes much further than money; it’s about value and worth, about confidence, empowerment, and living with a purpose.
While Milwaukee and surrounding counties have enjoyed relatively low unemployment rates over the last year, these numbers don’t tell the whole story. There are still barriers to employment that prohibit individuals from getting a job.
On this episode of Living Local, we speak with three people who are doing what they can to break down these barriers. They look for ways to connect with men and women who are searching for new possibilities and a fresh start. They want to help everyone truly discover the power of a job.
