Women United

Thank You for Attending SPREE
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Women United SPREE: Shopping for Change at Saint Kate. Proceeds from the event raised $30,000 for our Community Fund! On behalf of the Women's Leadership Council and the entire United Way team, we are grateful for your support.
A special thank you to our retailers for donating 10% or more of their proceeds from the evening to the Community Fund.
Pride United

Next month we will be announcing the date for Pride United Homecoming!
Our co-chairs, Patrick Mutsune and Lynn Sprangers are excited to support the LGBTQ+ Community with this unique event alongside emcee Elle Halo. Stay tuned for more information.

Emerging Leaders
Donate to Emerging Readers!
Make a difference by purchasing books for our nonprofit agency partners in both Milwaukee and Waukesha County! Your donation will give books to 350 children in need from seven nonprofit agencies while promoting literacy within underserved populations. Your donation will allow United Way to purchase and distribute books to both children and their families during the 2022 – 2023 school year.
A donation of $10 will buy one book for a child within this program. We recommend a donation of $50 to ensure that kids have enough books to read throughout the year. Donate now!
LINC
Welcome, Diamond!
LINC & Emerging Leaders welcome Diamond Herring-Rodgers as their new United Way Engagement Manager. Diamond recently graduated from Alverno College with a master's degree in Business Administration and Nonprofit Management. She joined us in August as a Loaned Executive, where she quickly learned that she wanted to stay at United Way full-time.
Prior to United Way, Diamond worked for Pepsi Beverages Company, The Milwaukee Bucks, and Northwestern Mutual. In her new role, Diamond is most looking forward to collaborating with her team to provide groundbreaking networking events and key focus-area volunteer experiences to broaden their footprint as leaders and innovators in both Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County!
Retire United
Thank You to Our 2022 Co-Chairs!
United Way thanks outgoing Retire United Committee co-chairs Reid Engstrom, Bev Jurkowski, and Tom Littelmann! Their service to the Retire United network has been invaluable over the years and we are so grateful that they’ve agreed to continue serving as individuals on the committee in the months ahead. Stay tuned for the announcement of our 2023 incoming co-chairs!
Join Retire United
If you aren't already a member, we encourage you to join United Way's Retire United network, a group of retired (or soon to retire) individuals who give, advocate, and volunteer around essential issues facing our neighborhoods. In 2022, we volunteered in both group settings and as individuals in remote environments for the betterment of our community, including:
Filling 1,286 backpacks with needed school supplies for local students
Assembling flashcard kits for distribution with our Community Schools
Bundling diapers and wipes for new parent households
Contributing to the Holiday Giving Tree program
