Honoring Dr. Jeanette Mitchell

2024 Linda McFerrin Award Honoree

On February 27, Dr. Jeanette Mitchell was posthumously honored as the recipient of the 2024 Linda McFerrin African American Nonprofit Leadership Award. Dr. Mitchell passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

A trailblazer in Milwaukee's leadership landscape, she rose from telephone operator to become Wisconsin Bell's first African American female district manager. Dr. Mitchell's daughters; Pamela Mitchell, Yvonne Mitchell, and Yvette Murrell (not present); accepted the award on her behalf with Cory Nettles presenting the award highlighting Dr. Jeanette's legacy in education. Another Successful CIO Forum

Technology United proudly hosted the 2025 CIO Forum on March 14, marking it as a resounding success with over 400 attendees and an impressive $730,000 raised for United Way.

Participants enjoyed engaging panel discussions, dynamic round table sessions, and invaluable networking opportunities. We also highlighted our ongoing initiatives in digital equity and shared ways for participants to get involved.

The Emerging Leaders Philanthropic 5 (P5) Awards recognize five community leaders in their 20s, 30s, and 40s that have made extraordinary commitments of leadership, volunteerism, mentoring, and philanthropy to Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha's nonprofit community. Award winners are recognized at the annual Emerging Leaders Philanthropic 5 Awards event during the summer.
