Pride United
Volunteer With Pride!
Pride United uplifts United Way's Key Initiative, Safe and Stable Homes (SASH), which seeks to prevent and respond to families facing homelessness. A great way to get involved with Pride United and SASH is to join us at Project Homeless Connect.
Project Homeless Connect is an annual event that brings resources and services together under one roof to best serve those experiencing homelessness. Typically, over 700 guests and 400 volunteers attend Milwaukee Project Homeless Connect for this one-day event.
Events will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17 (Milwaukee) and Tuesday, October 22 (Waukesha). Half-day and full-day shifts are available. To sign up to volunteer, become a sponsor, or make a gift, click here.
If you have questions about Pride United, please contact Diamond Herring-Rodgers.
Technology United
Wisconsin Tech Month
As we kick off the 2024 United Way Campaign, we want to thank all our Technology United members and Techquity supporters. A $1,200 leadership-level gift to Techquity provides 6 home computers for local individuals and families to access digital resources.
To date, we have distributed 6,500 computers to community members with a goal to distribute 50,000 by 2027. In addition to device distributions, Techquity makes efforts to bridge the digital divide by providing tech skills and literacy trainings. Check out this video to learn more.
If you are interested in contributing to our device goal or facilitating a skills training, please contact our Digital Equity Impact Manager, David Berka. If you are interested in learning more about our Technology United donor network, please reach out to Cassidy Korpela.
Diversity Leadership Society
Linda McFerrin Award
The Diversity Leadership Society's annual Linda McFerrin Award was established in 2018 by Cory and Michelle Nettles. The award recognizes an outstanding African American nonprofit executive who has provided exemplary leadership in the community.
In 2024, Cory and Michele Nettles generously increased their gift to $10,000. The recipient of this annual award will be chosen by United Way's Diversity Leadership Society and a $10,000 grant will be made by United Way to the organization that they represent.

Please contact Diamond Herring-Rodgers if you are interested in joining the Diversity Leadership Society.
Women United
Get Your Tickets to SPREE
Women United's SPREE – Shopping for Change event supports and promotes women-owned businesses and raises money for our Teen Mental Wellness: Empowering Minds initiative.
Women's Leadership Council member Jennifer Westphal loves SPREE because:
"It's a fun night, and it's so focused on women. You get to talk to the vendors and learn more about their business. And I think a lot of it has to do with the mission. We're there to inspire each other."
Read more here.
SPREE is coming up on Friday, November 15, and Individual Tickets and Sponsorships are available. There is limited capacity, so reserve your spot to shop today!
