Building Organizational Capacity: CAPITA (City at Peace in the Arts) is a community theater program founded in 1990 by Ms. Arlene Skwierawski and the late Brother Booker Ashe. We help Milwaukee students & families improve literacy, develop communication skills, nurture mutual trust, build confidence in themselves and their communities, and develop a deeper appreciation of the many ways African Americans have informed American culture.
Our mission: To draw from all areas of the community to foster multicultural awareness and racial harmony through the medium of Community Theater. (Racial Equity Fund)
