Maritza’s first experience with La Causa was when she was an infant. She and her six siblings were all a part of the organization’s Early Childhood Program. As an adult, because her experience as a child growing up with La Causa was so enjoyable and memorable, Maritza knew that she wanted to bring her kids into the program as well.
La Causa’s mission is to provide children, youth, and families with quality, comprehensive services that nurture healthy family life and enhance community stability. Their Early Education Program is a full-service bilingual center designed for children from four weeks to 12 years old. It focuses on the education and social-emotional development of children in the program.
"It's more of a home and not a school,” Maritza said.
La Causa’s staff have seen generations of families enjoy the programs through their over-50 years of service. Families like Maritza’s feel embraced because not only does the organization understand diverse cultures, but it also strives to keep diverse cultures strong. Staff and parents create goals for their children and work together to help them meet those goals.
