April is National Volunteer Month, and it offers us the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the impact of volunteer service in our local communities and highlight the power volunteers have in helping us to create real, lasting change. Volunteers are the heart and soul of United Way, and we could not do what we do without you!  

From packing backpacks full of needed school supplies to donating diapers and wipes to making campaign calls, we appreciate everything you do to make our community healthier, stronger, and more vibrant.  

Here are just a few of the ways you helped our community last year:  

When we look beyond these numbers, we know that: 

  • More parents had the supplies they needed for their babies and toddlers and could focus more on just being a good parent. 
  • More families were able to meet their basic needs and focus on long-term goals like permanent employment and stable housing. 
  • More students and their families had helpful educational tools and resources, whether they were learning at home or in the classroom.
  • More nonprofit agencies were able to fulfill their mission and serve their clients.

You started. You used what you had. You did what you could. At United Way, we are forever grateful.
