Volunteer Project Details

Mural Painting

Embrace your inner artist and create a mural for the community! Local artist and former Philanthropic 5 Award Winner, Marquayla Ellison, is providing a “paint by numbers” opportunity to create a piece of artwork that will be in the Atrium space that connects Browning Elementary and Silver Spring Neighborhood Center.

Kit Packing

Create kits for tweens and teens at the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center. The items in the kits include personal hygiene items and a note of encouragement.

Sensory Room Set Up

Provide support to students as they transition between Silver Spring Neighborhood and Browning Elementary. The vision is to transform an empty room into a place where kids can come to decompress, relax, and use toys/activities to get ready to move from one setting to another.

Community Clean Up

Help Silver Spring Neighborhood Center and Browning Elementary kick off their initiative to clean up the community! Work together to make the grounds welcoming for visitors, families, and students.
