This year's event highlights and celebrates the impact of the Capacity Building Fund. Through a generous gift from Mckenzie Scott, United Way was able to invest $7.5 million  to foster capacity building in Black and Brown-led organizations. This gift allowed us to provide multi-year, general operating funds, to center the resident voice, and sponsor systems-change work led by our communities.

We will be showcasing the work of 40 organizations that received funding and connect the commitments that guided the Capacity Building Fund with the broader goals of DLS to uplift the work done in Reducing Barriers to Employment and Advancement. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with the non-profits who received funding and learn more about how to continue uplifting their work with United Way. This event reinforces the importance of equitable investments to provide our communities the opportunities to succeed and thrive.
