Start the Conversation

  • Make a Graffiti Wall: Encourage employees to respond to Dr. King’s quotes on a large paper affixed to a common area’s wall.
  • Host a Gallery Walk: Post questions and have employees travel in groups to share their thoughts and read the responses of others. Host a reflection afterwards.
  • Play Trivia: Send out a fun trivia competition via email. You can even offer prizes.

A Smart Girl's Guide: Race & Inclusion

Join us for this interactive session that introduces you to tools and techniques to help normalize the conversation around race, question biases, and take positive action. 

 

 

This family-friendly event is great for youth and adults alike. 

 

Volunteer opportunity: To compliment this learning session, volunteers are invited to help pack personal wellness and empowerment kits to support local girls across our region. Volunteers will pick up a box with all supplies at United Way, assemble 5-6 kits at home, and then return them to United Way.

Let's Talk! Guided Racial Equity Conversations

Using racial equity conversation cards, attendees will take part in guided and meaningful conversations around race, equity, and inclusion. 

 

Beyond the initial session, attendees will receive a series of weekly prompts for continued learning.

The world is changing and to be effective, we must forge a new, more inclusive way of doing business.  During this learning experience, audience members will be guided through a process to move past the status quo and help lead the charge.  Through the power of storytelling, sharing practical tips, and individual reflection; audience members will be able to identify the unique way to positively impact the future of their organizations and the potential of their actions.  The session is great for leaders who help build organizational culture - People Managers, Diversity/ Equity/Inclusion teams, Employee Resource Group Participants, and Human Resource Specialists.  (Attendance Limit: 100)
