I’m excited to share good news. As of January 1, Safe Babies Healthy Families (SBHF) has merged with Easter Seals. This merger fosters a much-needed connection to vital services for families who have a child with special needs, or for parents who need job placement support. In combining forces with Easter Seals, the SBHF program will have a more viable and sustainable platform to serve more at-risk children and families than ever before!

Mom (Amparo) and daughter (Bella) have a bright future thanks to the Safe Babies Healthy Families program.
SBHF brings three decades of experience ensuring safe, healthy babies and children through education, support and resources. Our results speak for themselves: 96% of babies have healthy deliveries (birth weight of 5.8 lbs. or greater/full-term, etc.) and 85% of eligible 5 year-olds scored as on-track to begin Kindergarten. Being part of the Easter Seals network will provide a stable platform from which we can get even more children off to the right start.
Watch this video and hear from mothers how SBHF impacted their lives.
We are very grateful to our Volunteer Leadership at SBHF and Easter Seals that opened the door to this exciting combination. Together Easter Seals and SBHF will serve over 2,500 children and parents in Southeastern Wisconsin with variety of supports from prenatal to early education and autism therapies.
We also want to thank community leaders throughout Waukesha County, including county government, Waukesha County Community Foundation, ProHealth Care and the Thriving Waukesha County Alliance, for organizing a ‘community conversation’ that opened the door for this exciting partnership to emerge.
Note: There will be no interruption in SBHF services and our team of professional case managers will remain intact, providing continuity and program expertise. Additionally, Nancy Major, former SBHF President/CEO, joined Easter Seals as Vice-President of Community Engagement. Sue Russell will assume the new role of Vice-President of Major Gifts.
