Recap of 2025 Tech United Career Exploration Fair

Technology United hosted its annual Career Exploration Fair to inspire high school students to explore  careers in technology. In partnership with MSOE and the MKE Tech Hub Coalition, the event featured a rotation of interactive activities and a panel discussion with technology professionals. 

This year’s fair welcomed 100 students from five Milwaukee-area high schools — Washington, Audubon, Bay View, St. Augustine Preparatory, and Alexander Hamilton. Students engaged in a variety of hands-on experiences at MSOE’s STEM Center, including building a battery with Clarios, which emerged as the top-rated and most engaging activity of the day. Other activities included creating a chatbot using AI to tell dad jokes, exploring Microsoft 365 Co-Pilot, and immersive virtual reality experiences showcasing careers in the trades, engineering, and STEM fields. 

Following the activity rotations, students transitioned to MSOE’s Welcome Center for a panel discussion, lead by MKE Tech Hub Coalition, featuring diverse tech experts who shared insights on how artificial intelligence and technology have evolved since their own high school days. The event concluded with lunch in MSOE’s cafeteria, where students dined alongside volunteers and college students — an experience that offered a glimpse of campus life. As one student shared, “Lunch was truly a different experience, and I felt like I was in college.”
