During United Way’s Season of Caring, American Transmission Company (ATC) employees volunteer their time throughout our four-county region. In past years, the company’s employees have participated in a variety of projects such as filling backpacks full of school supplies for the Backpack Coalition of Waukesha, garden clean-ups at Interfaith Older Adult Programs, field trips to the Milwaukee Public Museum with Penfield Children’s Center, or harvesting crops at the Hunger Task Force farm.
"Our employees have gained an awareness of community programs, which allows them to better understand the needs of others," says Jennifer B., Corporate Communications Specialist at American Transmission Company. She says volunteering through United Way's Season of Caring also gives employees an opportunity to see how their donor dollars are being spent.
"At ATC, our infrastructure is part of the fabric of the communities we serve, so caring for the community is an extension of our business as a company value," Jennifer said.
She also shared her personal experience while volunteering with a child experiencing severe health issues. "Seeing that child’s face light up when I interacted with her was truly a gratifying experience."
