Our United Way Community Fund is designed to offer assistance in times of emergencies, but we’ve never seen an emergency like the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why we initiated the COVID-19 Urgent Needs Fund. The Urgent Needs Fund initially provided essential supplies and services during the response phase of COVID-19, including food, shelter, and supplies to our nonprofit partners. While we continue to support essential services and supplies, we are also focused on how our partners and community recover. In the recovery phase, we will look at large investments to support operations, staffing costs, and more.
What will we learn from COVID-19? What glaring inequalities in our society were highlighted during the pandemic? And what can we do together, united, to create lasting change? We are so grateful to everyone who has made a contribution to the Urgent Needs Fund, but we know that our work has only begun.
We encourage you to give to the Community Fund for the most efficient and effective way to invest in the urgent needs of your community, including COVID-19 response, relief, and recovery.
